Stephen R. Robinson, P.Eng. is a licensed professional engineer with 30+ years of experience, and is situated in Moncton, NB. Stephen obtained his Civil Engineering degree in 1988 from the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton) and has worked in Atlantic Canada since that time. His experience includes Structural Engineering, Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Highway and Roadway design, and general Civil Engineering. In 1997, Stephen began his training in Accident Reconstruction and from that point forward, left the more traditional side of the engineering industry to become involved in the Forensic Engineering side of the business.
Stephen joined Contrast Engineering Limited in 2006 and has been involved in a wide variety of projects. Most of Stephen’s work comes under the Accident Reconstruction umbrella, but he has also been a Fire and Explosion Investigator, as well as the various civil and structural engineering investigations he gets involved with.
Stephen is often the one contacted when a client would like to investigate how the roadway design, signage, pavement markings or traffic signals may have contributed to a collision incident. He has been involved in investigations and subsequent trials involving the Provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Stephen regularly updates his training in the various fields he is involved in, especially with respect to accident reconstruction. Stephen is one of the leading authourities in Atlantic Canada with respect to airbag modules and event data recorders and the data that they contain, and how to access and utilize that data.
In the last two years, Stephen has been working with the Institute of Police Technology & Management (IPTM) of the University of North Florida, teaching the analysis of vehicle crash data to Law Enforcement and Engineers all over North America.
Stephen has been qualified as an Expert in Accident Reconstruction in courts in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador. He has also been qualified as an expert in Highway Engineering in courts in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Stephen lives with his wife Aileen, and they have two children; Holly and Matt, and a French Bulldog named Bailey.
