Tim P Jenkins, CFEI, CVFI is a lifelong resident of Charlottetown, PEI.  Tim obtained his Fire Service Administration credentials in 2009 from Dalhousie University and has worked in Atlantic Canada since that time.

Tim began a career in technology where he started a computer consulting business before joining Sulcus Hospitality based in Phoenix Arizona in the early 1990’s.   In 1994 Tim returned to PEI to open a franchised retail computer stores in Charlottetown and Halifax.  Tim continues to be the principal of this small business technology consulting firm today.

Tim started his fire service career with the Charlottetown Fire Department as a volunteer in 1988.   His love of firefighting has evolved through paid unionized positions prior moving into the Fire Investigation field.  For more than 25 years Tim has been a member of the Charlottetown Fire Department and currently holds the position of Rescue Company Captain.

Tim held the position of President of Prince Edward Island Firefighters Association from 2009 to 2013 where he spearheaded development of enhanced training for Island Firefighters and successfully developed and completed over $1M in enhancement to the training facilities.  During his tenure he also developed and Island wide medical first responder system and directed a complete restructuring of the 911 service. Tim continues to serve in the capacity of Past President for this organization.

While developing his career in Fire Investigation at the Nova Scotia Firefighters School and abroad, Tim spent several years volunteering with the Prince Edward Island Fire Marshal’s office to develop his hands on experience and continues to work as a relief Fire Investigator for the province on a casual basis.

Tim joined the Forensic Engineering firm of Contrast Engineering in 2010 as a Fire Investigator and Branch Manager for PEI.   Tim has completed more than 190 fire and explosion investigations in all four Atlantic provinces over the past 5 years.

Tim lives in Charlottetown wife Karla and their 2 girls, Samantha, Jamie and their appropriately named dog Cinder.  In his spare time Tim enjoys spending time with family, travelling, photography and doing what his wife tells him to do…
